EXL Service is hiring a remote Data Scientist specialized in Advanced Analytics and Generative AI. This role focuses on engineering, optimizing, and deploying AI/ML models out of large, unstructured datasets into live production environments. A significant portion of the role involves research and development (R&D) around Large Language Models (LLMs)—specifically fine-tuning open-source models, constructing orchestration pipelines via LangChain, utilizing vector databases, and implementing prompt engineering frameworks. You will also oversee rigorous model validation testing, maintain strict data governance compliance, and collaborate across teams to tackle intricate enterprise business problems.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of professional analytics and data science experience leading projects that involve AI implementation and Advanced Analytics.
• In-depth technical understanding and hands-on experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), including a proven track record fine-tuning open-source models for specialized enterprise use cases.
• Strong technical exposure to prompt engineering techniques, integrating vector databases for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), managing data embedding pipelines, and developing application frameworks using LangChain.
• Robust expertise across classic Machine Learning and Deep Learning architectures, specifically focusing on Natural Language Processing (NLP), Text Analytics, Support Vector Machines (SVM), LSTM networks, Transformers, and custom Neural Network layouts.
• High proficiency in Python programming applied across data analysis, machine learning library manipulation, and deployment web development scripting.
• Direct hands-on development experience utilizing fundamental numerical and machine learning packages including NumPy, SciPy, and scikit-learn.
• Design and execute rigorous statistical testing frameworks to systematically evaluate AI model performance, validate results, and run iterative experiments to optimize model behavior and inference accuracy.
• Establish, deploy, and maintain data governance policies to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with global privacy regulations.
• Excellent algorithmic problem-solving skills, high attention to structural detail, and the distinct ability to communicate complex data science concepts effectively to diverse clients and cross-functional stakeholders.
